Willie S.
Taylor
d. Feb 10, 2026
Willie S. Taylor was born on November 28, 1950, in Sussex County, Virginia, to the late Eddie Lee Taylor and Eva Turner Taylor. He passed away on February 10, 2026, at Glenburnie Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Henrico, Virginia.
The youngest and last surviving of eleven children, Willie moved to Richmond in his teens. He began his career at Southern States before joining Philip Morris, from which he eventually retired after many years of dedicated service.
Willie enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. He found joy in simple things such as volunteering at local church food banks and moments of fellowship and conversation with those around him. Riding his bicycle, which was his primary means of transportation, became one of the ways many people recognized him. He was well known throughout the Church Hill community in Richmond, Virginia, where he spent much of his time. His presence was familiar to many, and over the years he formed connections that made him a recognizable part of the neighborhood.
For the past three years, Willie was under the unwavering care of Cheryl Nero, his devoted caregiver, and her dedicated staff. He also shared a special bond with his friend Dre, who worked alongside Cheryl and provided both aid and friendship. Their collective kindness ensured Willie's final years were lived with dignity and compassion.
Willie was preceded in death by both his parents; his 10 siblings: Jessie Turner, Aretha White, Franklin Taylor, Alice Taylor, Eva Taylor, John Taylor, William Taylor, Thomas Taylor, Geraldine Taylor, and Lucy Bell Taylor Johnson; and his son, Willie Davis.
He is survived by his children: Dominique (Thomas), Renique, Chautae, Wilhelmina, Shannon, and Nikia; nine grandchildren; one devoted niece, Martha "Ann" Pittman (Rufus); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
