Wendell Andre Christian (48) of New Kent, VA transitioned on Friday, September 4th, 2026 with his loving family by his side. He was born December 22, 1977 in Augusta, Georgia, to Mrs. Brenda Bryant (Christian), a daughter of late — Monroe and Inez Christian.
Wendell was baptized at an early age, and joined Mount Zion Baptist Church in Mechanicsville, VA. Raised as an “Army Brat”, Wendell grew up experiencing different places, people, and chapters of life—experiences that helped shape the unique and unforgettable person he would become.
Wendell was a loving son, father, grandfather, cousin and friend. He was the happiest when he boasted about his children and grandchildren. Though his time with them was not as long as desired, the love he gave his children will remain with them forever. His lessons, his laughter, his stories, his stubbornness, his creativity, and all the little things that made him Wendell will live on through them.
Wendell was a man who marched to the beat of his own drum. He was fiercely independent, unapologetically himself, and was never afraid to be different. He had a personality that could fill a room, an infectious smile, and a laugh that those who knew him will never forget. He had a way of making his presence known, and even in his absence, the memories he created will continue to bring smiles and laughter to those who loved him.
He had an undeniable love for the Dallas Cowboys and all things hip-hop. His artistic abilities were undeniable. He was a talented artist in many respects. He found his passions through creating, whether it was producing music, being a tattoo artist or the go-to barber. He left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Wendell’s proudest legacy is that of his surviving seven children and seven grandchildren: DaShawn Harper of Oxon Hill, MD and daughter Egypt; Deion Washington (Heather) of New Kent, VA and sons Roman and Prince; Aundraya Bray (Isaiah) of Henrico, VA and children Alaia, Aeris and Jace; Malikai Christian (Michayla) of New Kent, VA and children Kash and Nova; Amaura Christian of New Kent, VA; Khoen Christian of New Kent, VA; and bonus daughter Alexis Wells-Elliott of New Kent, VA and son Aiden.
Wendell is also survived by his mother Brenda and “Pops” Henry Bryant, Loritha Christian, cousin/honorary sister, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his grandparents, Wendell is preceded in death by his uncle, Norris Christian.
Wendell may no longer be here with us, but the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the memories he created will remain forever. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
