Walter Seaborne Jr. was born on November 1, 1940, in Emporia, Virginia. He was one of four children and was raised with a strong work ethic, having spent his early years working farmland and plowing fields. He was an avid viewer of ABC World News Tonight with David Muir and a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins. Throughout his life, Walter enjoyed fishing, cooking, and admiring muscle cars. Above all, he cherished spending time with his beloved family, who meant the world to him.
Walter honorably served his country in the United States Army for 20 years (1967-1987). His dedication, discipline, and faithful service were reflected in many awards, decorations, and citations he received during his distinguished military career.
His Military Honors included:
Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (Second Award); Army Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with Four Bronze Service Stars; Army Good Conduct Medal (Sixth Award); Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Meritorious Unit Commendation; Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Badge; Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Medal Unit Citation Badge; and the Marksman Badge
Walter continued his pursuit of faith and learning by attending Faith Landmarks Ministries, where he earned a degree in Theology. He was a loving and nurturing father whose unwavering dedication ensured his family was always cared and provided for.
He leaves his memory to be cherished by his daughters, Sabrina Arrington (Travis), Edna Copeland, and Kamecha Seaborne; grand-children, including Ida New, Gloria Earle, and Kristin Arrington; great-grandchildren, Brianna Lauderdale (Sye), Breon Earle, Aleah Arrington, Zariah Bass, Zakeriah Bass, and Zuri Bass; great-great-grandchildren, Alayjah Lauderdale and Sye Lauderdale VI; former wife, Ida Seaborne; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
