Obituary

Walter accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Six Mt. Zion Baptist Church. At the side of his mother, he joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Later in life, he became a faithful and dedicated member of Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church. As a loyal servant, he was a longtime member of the Men's Choir and was the recipient of the "Men Standing for Christ Award." Walter infamously known as a vocalist, loved to sing. He created his family gospel group, "Voices of Praise" and later formed the gospel group "Inplace."

Walter was educated in the Richmond Public Schools System, enjoyed playing various sports, and was a youth mentor and coach at the Boys and Girls Clubs in Richmond, VA. He began his life's journey, employed at the Medical College of VA. Once that task neared completion, he retired to what he knew best, following the word of his Savior. An avid sports fan, he was known to enthusiastically watch some of his favorite sports including basketball and football.

He met the love of his life, his queen, Audrey C. Robinson while at church in Richmond, VA and they married on May 30, 1999. He loved life and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Walter adored and was committed to his family and friends. The patriarch of his family, he took the role of father, grandfather and uncle with passion, devotion and dedication. Known for his warm hugs, sense of humor and welcoming manner. He welcomed people into his life, treated them like family and extended his hand to anyone in need.

Making sure to tell you "I love you" before parting ways. He exuded a genuine example of love and the epitome of tenacity.
