Virginia Louise Pleasant, was born January 10, 1937 in New York City to the late Catherine Morrison and Roosevelt Robertson, Sr. At 87 years young, she left this world far too soon on Sunday, November 24, 2024. Virginia is preceded in death by her step-mother, Gertrude; brothers, Melvin, Warren, Floyd, Roosevelt Robertson, Jr., Winston Morrison, Andrew Morrison and James Banks.
She attended Armstrong High School. She furthered her education at J. Sargarent Reynolds Community College studying education. Virginia pursued knowledge with unwavering passion. She later became a teacher's aide for Richmond Public School System working at various elementary schools. Virginia was instrumental in providing love and helping educate the children of Richmond. She retired in 1999 after 30 years of dedicated service.
She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church on Fairmont Avenue. Virginia loved her church family and enjoyed the fellowship on Sundays.
Virginia enjoyed listening to Gospel and R&B music as she relaxed. She was one that helped others in need. Her potential was boundless when it came to others. She was a beacon of light, illuminating the lives of those around her.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memory three caring sons, Curtis Jr., André, and Kelvin Pleasant; loving siblings, Dennis Robertson, Linwood Robertson, Robert (Carol) Robertson, Gertrude (Thurman) Brown, Edith Tennessee, Barbara Trayham, Gwendolyn Burch, LeRoy (Joan) Robertson, Bernice Wyatt; Raynard Robertson, Robert Morrison, Jessie McClaine and Cathy Harris; ten adored grandchildren, Stacey, Curtis III, Charleigh, Carleigh, Katrina, Chi-Quita', Andraé, Jenn'Asia, Harmony, and Kelvina; a host of other relatives and friends that she loved dearly. She will always be remembered for her kind heart and putting other people feelings above her own.
