Verlin Bruce Wallace, known as Hank, was born and raised in Mt. Gilead, NC. He moved to Reston, VA, and then later moved to Richmond, VA, where he resided. He completed his education in Reston, VA and Richmond, VA
In his early years, Hank was employed as a cook and a chef at the Holiday Inn in Ashland and Richmond, VA. Cooking was one of his passions. Hank was a jack of all trades who rescued many family members and friends by repairing cars, plumbing, appliances, home repairs and much more. Hank was considered a Church Hill legend, known for his personality and charisma. He lived his life on his own terms and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Katie Wallace-Jackson and Jack Wallace; sisters and brothers, James "Roscoe" Wallace, Barbara Randolph (Samuel), Samuel Jackson Jr. (Susie), Phyllis Cain (Curtis), and Phillip Jackson (Francine).
He leaves to cherish one living sister and brother in-law, Sandra and Stanley Jones of Ruther Glenn, VA, and one devoted sister-in-law, Susie Jackson (Samuel Jackson) of Richmond, VA, devoted nieces, Lisha Jackson and Sharonda Jackson; devoted nephew, Cornell Randolph; a devoted friend, Marvin "Blue" Ward; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
