Tommy L. Henry

Tommy Lee Henry, affectionately known as “Lee,” was born on February 26, 1957. He peacefully departed this life on Sunday, September 6, 2026 and was welcomed into the loving arms of God, our Savior in Christ.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Henry Sr. and Fannie Elizabeth Henry, and his brothers, Robert L. Moseley and Linwood Carver Johnson Sr.

Lee attended Richmond Public Schools, where he developed a passion for the skilled trades. He dedicated more than 40 years of his life to his craft, earning a reputation as someone who could repair or fix just about anything. Family and friends often called on him whenever something needed to be repaired, and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Whether the job was big or small, Lee was dependable, resourceful, and always found a way to get it done. His willingness to serve others and his remarkable talents will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Lee's most recent position was as a Maintenance Supervisor with Greenbrier Management in Petersburg, Virginia, where he had been a dedicated employee since 2010. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to quality work.

Lee enjoyed watching football and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He especially admired running back Emmitt Smith and rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his favorite team. His love for the game brought him joy and was something he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

Above all else, Lee was a devoted family man. He treasured the time he spent with his family and found his greatest joy in being surrounded by those he loved. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family, and they could always count on him for love, support, guidance, and a helping hand.

Lee's memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Darlene Henry; his four children, James Lee Henry, LeTonya Roane, Demond Trent (Shandelle), and Daiquan Trent; stepdaughter, Jashima Smith (Brandon) his nine siblings, Robert Henry (Jewel), Katherine Wilkerson (Herbert), Cassandra Hill (Maurice), Opal Moseley, Charlene Lewis (Anthony), Douglas Ross (Gwendolyn), Melvin Moseley (Felicia), Aaron Moseley and James Moseley; 12 grandchildren; 11 cousins; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, including his devoted niece, Tammie Henry; his caring friends, Robert G., Morris Brown, and Jamie Logan; and all whose lives were touched by his kindness, generosity, and love.

We are thankful to God for the blessing of having Lee in our lives. Although we will dearly miss his presence with us, we rejoice in the assurance that, while he is absent from his earthly body, he is present with the Lord. His love, strength, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
