Obituary

Sarah Elizabeth Harris was the ninth of fifteen children born to the late Edward & Alma Johnson on June 9, 1940, in Henrico County, Virginia. She peacefully transitioned from her earthly home on December 11, 2024, to be with our Lord and Savior.

Sarah accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age, was baptized and became a member of Quioccasin Baptist Church. Sarah married the love of her life James Edward Harris, Sr on January 24, 1959. From their union God blessed them with seven children.

Sarah lived a full life and loved spending time with her family. Her life was dedicated to being a homemaker and mother to her children due to the untimely passing of her husband. Sarah loved to watch her daily soap operas, wrestling and westerns. She made it clear that no one should call her and interrupt her shows. Her sisters were truly her best friends and they spent many weekends shopping & eating at local restaurants. She also enjoyed spending quality time with her family on the family property "Mid-Way" for events and cookouts.

In her later years she was a resident of Canterbury Rehabilitation & Health Care Center where several of the staff members affectionally called her "Grandma".

Sarah was proceeded in death by her husband James E. Harris Sr.; parents, Edward & Alma Johnson; sons, Don and Jason Harris; grandson, Chauncey Harris; brothers, Vernon "Curtis", Robert Sr., James and John Johnson; sisters, Barbara "Ann", Virgina "Gertrude", and Anna Johnson, Alma P.
