Ruffin Woods was born February 28, 1934, to the late Onie (Lee) Woods, and Harrison "Sam" Woods.

Ruffin received his education from the South Carolina school system, before relocating to Brooklyn, New York during his early adult years.

During this time, Ruffin worked in the demolition and construction field as a lead foreman. He was responsible for overseeing hundreds of projects and developments. He worked this successfully for over 45 years before retiring.

Anyone that knew Ruffin would describe him as humorous, witty, charming, or handsome, but most of all kind-hearted. He was a hardworking family man, awesome father, provider, protector, and husband. He was loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

Ruffin's hobbies included an admiration of classic automobiles, Old Westerns; particularly anything starring Fred Williamson and listening to gospel music. He also made sure to save more than he spent, that was very important to him, so his hobby was also saving money for a rainy day.

Ruffin was preceded in death by his parents; son, Leroy Woods, four brothers, Eddie, Efford, Moses, Ollie and two sisters Alice and Patsy Woods.

Ruffin departed this life on July 31, 2024, and leaves behind his cherished life partner, Margaret Woods; two daughters Barbara Cherry (Edgar "Cherry"), and Stephanie Cheek (Clenford Jr. "Chank"); three grandchildren, Jovan Cherry, Kaylah Buckner, and Tiffanie Woods. His beloved and only remaining sibling, Levern Woods. He also leaves to cherish his memory; a host of other relatives, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
