It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Royal Lee Robinson Jr., who left us on October 15, 2023. He was 68 years old.

Roy, as he was fondly called by friends and family, was born on October 19, 1954, to parents Royal Lee Robinson Sr. (deceased) and Helen Celes Robinson of Goochland County Virginia. He grew up in Manakin-Sabot where he attended Goochland County public schools. Roy worked various jobs as a refuse collector, landscaper, and as an associate at a senior living facility. He was a hard worker and he was very meticulous which is a work ethic his employers appreciated.

Roy was a loving and caring brother who needled, loved, and enjoyed being with his family. He was a diehard Washington Commanders fan and he looked forward to the Commanders Cowboys football rivalry games.

Roy is survived by his mother Mrs. Helen C. Robinson, four sisters, Mary Hunt, Delia Price, Dora Rabb, Helen B. Robinson, four brothers, Dan Robinson, Freddie Robinson, Vincent Robinson, and Rodney Robinson. He has two daughters, Yolanda Robinson and Patricia Robinson, four grandchildren, Demiko McKeiver, Michelle McKeiver, Savion Jackson, and Marvin Jackson, and one great grandchild Zekhari McKeiver, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Roy will be deeply missed. A funeral to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, October 26th, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church Manakin-Sabot, 214 River Road West, Manakin-Sabot, VA, 23103. Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N 25th St., Richmond, VA 23223, will present a viewing of Roy on Wednesday, October 25th, from 2 to 8 p.m. at their location.
