Paul L. Hicks, Sr. was born December 4, 1957 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Lavornia Hicks and Albert Walton. He attended Richmond Public Schools System.

He retired from a local Construction Company where he did roofing, until he could no longer work.

Paul enjoyed listening to music, being outside, dancing and being around family and friends. He is known for making sure everyone is happy and laughing.

On the day of April 21, 2025, God in His infinite wisdom, whispered in Paul's ear and told him to come on home, your work on earth is done . . . well done my good and faithful servant he said and closed his eyes.

Paul leaves to cherish his beloved son, Paul L. Hicks, Jr.; one grandson, Jer'Quantae Broaddus Sr.; one granddaughter, Ta'Kiya Broaddus and three great grandchildren, Jer'Quantae Broaddus Jr., Jer'Niyah Broaddus, and Ta'Kyie Wayne; one favorite cousin, Lavornina Scott who cared for him until his passing; and a host of family members and friends.
