Ms. Patricia Renee Hill was born August 15, 1961, to Preston and Ruth Hill. She was the first of three children. She was born in Richmond, Virginia, moving in her early years to Henrico County. At the tender age of 12, Patricia made a confession of faith, acknowledging that she was a sinner in need of salvation and baptized at Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Graduating from Varina High School in 1979, Patricia began her freshman year of college at Virginia Commonwealth University and soon after obtained employment at Blue Cross, Blue Shield Association. After faithful years of healthcare employment and with eager enthusiasm, Patricia decided to pursue employment in the banking industry. With great success, Patricia was offered employment with Wachovia National Bank in Winston-Salem, and simultaneously obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in May 2004 at the historically black Winston-Salem State University. Patricia than obtained the Master of Public Administration May 2007 at High Point University, High Point, North Carolina.
In addition to her educational and career pursuits Patricia had a passion for non-profit organizations and volunteerism. Patricia labored endlessly with Meals on Wheels and Hospice & Palliative Care in Winston Salem/Forsyth County and before her passing the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Richmond.
Patricia had a love for music starting with piano lessons at a young age to having a catalog of vinyl records and CD's. Patricia was also known for her fashion style, specifically handbags and jewelry accessories. She was the premier expert on quality handbags.
Patricia passed away on May 12, 2023, and is survived by her loving parents Preston and Ruth Hill; devoted sister, Janice M. Hill and brother, Gregory P. Hill; adored niece, Jenae C. Hill, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and devoted beloved friends in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Richmond, Virginia.
