Olivia "Libbie"
M. Adams
d. Jun 17, 2025
Olivia Morris Adams, affectionately known as "Libbie," went to sleep peacefully on June 17, 2025. Born on September 18, 1946, in Richmond, Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Blanche Theresa Scott and Welford George Hopkins, and stepdaughter of Fauntleroy Scott.
Libbie received her education in the Richmond Public School System and attended Armstrong High School. She was employed for many years by Richmond Public Schools in the custodial department, where she worked with dedication and pride until retirement.
Libbie truly embraced life. Her warmth, humor, and unmistakable smile could light up any room. She was a joy to be around—a great listener and someone who made everyone feel at home. She loved good food, music, dancing, cleaning, and, most of all, talking on the phone with her many friends and family members. Holidays, phone calls, and everyday moments were all special when shared with Libbie.
Known for her classy style and sophisticated, laid back spirit, Libbie was a true friend. Her fashion sense was unmatched, and her loyalty ran deep. If you were her friend, you were family—and she protected those she loved with devotion, especially her children. She gave selflessly and made it her mission to lift others up.
A lifelong Catholic, Libbie spent the last few years of her life studying the Bible and fellowshipping with Jehovah's Witnesses. Her faith brought her peace, and as she rests awaiting her resurrection, we hold tight to her memory and the joy she brought into our lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Williana Wright; brothers, Linwood and Fauntleroy Scott; her sons, Charles Morris and Curtis Adams Jr.; and grandson, Kente Adams.
She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Welford Morris; daughter, Olivia "Queenie" Adams; granddaughters, Latara Whitfield "Woo" and Keone Deane; great-grandchildren: Dre'Yon Whitfield, Lati' Whitfield, and Arre' Malone; sisters: Thelma Scott and Consuella Forbes; devoted friends and sisters-in-law: Debra Scott, Betsy Scott, Freida Parker, Barbara Billings, Brenda Dumas, Ruby Christian, and her lifetime best friend Brenda Radford; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many friends who became like family.
