In the quiet reverence of his farewell, Deacon Dunk was gently welcomed into the arms of eternity on February 25, 2025, his light forever glowing in the hearts of those he loved.

Deacon Dunk was preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Victoria Dunk; and his second wife, Julia Dunk. He leaves behind cherished memories with two dedicated and devoted daughters, Cassandra Dunk of New Bern, NC, and Beverly Dunk Brown (Lawrence) of Norfolk, VA; one sister, Queenie Johnson (Dover, NC); three grandchildren, Christopher and Tierra Brown, and Jamisha Bellamy (Denzuel); three great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jayla, and Janel Bellamy; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
