Mitchell Earl Whitehead Sr., 68, entered into eternal rest on March 2, 2023, at his home in Richmond, VA.

He was born May 4, 1954 to the late James Whitehead Sr. and the late Catherine Wyatt-Whitehead. Mitchell (Mitch or Mitch Miller as some would like to call him), attended Charles City County Schools.  He learned to work on cars at the early age of 10 and was taught by his father, James "Jim" Whitehead Sr.  Mitchell loved cars, and his all-time favorite was the Mustang.  He owned several including a 1969 Mac I and a 1970 Fastback. Working on cars was his passion and he was an excellent all-around mechanic.  Mitchell was always a fun-loving person known by many.  He loved to dance, listen to old music, and spending time with his family and friends.  Mitchell loved to joke around and make people laugh.  He was always very high-spirited and always willing to help anyone who needed it.

Mitchell leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted friend, Edith Mealy; his children, Michelle Whitehead-Johnson and Mitchell Earl Whitehead Jr. (Judith); grandchildren, Jordon Johnson (Adriana), Nyah Johnson, Mitchell Whitehead, and Isabel Whitehead; a great-grandchild, Emryn Rose Johnson;  seven brothers and sisters, James Whitehead Jr. (Theresa), Steve Whitehead (deceased), Keith Whitehead, Moray Whitehead (Cindy), Darlene Woodson, Cynthia Doreen Johnson, and Danielle Whitehead (deceased), and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
