Minnie Lee Taylor Myers was born in Jackson, Mississippi, to Lena Mae Taylor Harper and Willie Carl (W.C.) Terrell (Mary). She was lovingly raised by her mother and stepfather, David C. Harper Sr., alongside her six sisters and four brothers.

Minnie began her education in the Jackson Public School System and attended Piney Woods in Piney Woods, Mississippi. She graduated from Lanier High School in 1969 and was later accepted to Millsaps College, and also received a full modeling scholarship. Choosing to devote herself to family, she embarked on a career path while raising and training her children. Minnie dedicated more than 40 years of service to St. Dominic Hospital as a supervisor and trainer. She managed a janitorial service company, securing cleaning contracts, providing opportunities for many people. She also worked with the Jackson Public School System as an aide, a role she cherished because of her love for children.

In 1973, Minnie met and married the love of her life, Lorenzo Myers Sr. Together, they blended their families and became proud parents to Lorenzo Myers Jr., Stacey Dion Myers, Rita Myers Brown (Earl), and Kendrick Devon Myers.

Minnie was deeply devoted to ministry and passionate about her faith in Jesus Christ. She held the roles of President of the Anderson United Methodist Women, Sunday School Teacher, Captain of the Anderson Methodist Bowling Team, and also taught adult literacy and personal finance skills. She was famous in the community for her banana pudding and her delicious pies. Her dedication to fitness motivated her to establish a walking club for both men and women in the local community. She greeted everyone with her captivating smile.

Her life was marked by service, compassion, and a spirit that touched everyone she encountered.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Myers Sr.; her son, Kendrick Devon Myers; her sisters, Gloria Harper and Lana M. Harper; her brother, Dexter Harper; and her niece, Selena Harper.

On October 1, 2025, Minnie peacefully transitioned from this life, surrounded by family in Chester, VA. She leaves to cherish her sweet and infectious spirit:
