Marcellus P. Walker Jr.

With profound sadness, we share the passing of Marcellus Paul Walker Jr., who departed this life on May 20, 2026.

Born in Philadelphia on May 28, 1968, to the late Marcellus Paul Walker Sr. and Phyllis Elaine Cousins Walker, Paul grew up in Henrico County before attending the Job Corps for Culinary Arts and later moving to New York City to pursue his dreams. He was a talented model, a gifted sous chef, and, most importantly, a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend who deeply loved his nieces and nephews.

After returning to Virginia following 9/11, Paul was known for his generous and sensitive heart, warm spirit, and creativity. Though he lived a troubled life, he loved deeply and wholeheartedly. He had a green thumb, a deep love for animals, and a lifelong devotion to God. His kindness, humor, and love for family touched many lives and will never be forgotten.

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Phyllis Elaine Cousins Walker, his “Butterfly.” While our hearts are heavy, we find peace and comfort in knowing they are reunited once again.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving siblings, Saa’dia Jinita Walker Douglas (Jerome Douglas) and Steven E-noe Walker (Jill Dixon Walker); his partner of 24 years, Alonzo Carter and the Carter family; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends across Virginia, Philadelphia, Tennessee, and Maryland.

Please keep the Walker family lifted in prayer during this incredibly difficult time. May Paul rest peacefully in the Father’s arms and may his memory forever be a blessing.
