Obituary

Lamontae Aubrey Scott was born to Tomeka Smith-Taylor and Ricky Tomon Scott on Monday August 14th, 2000 in Richmond Virginia. From early on he exemplified the qualities of compassion and generosity that would define his life. He was a man of integrity guided by a moral compass that directed him towards acts of kindness and service to others.

Lamontae accepted the Lord as his personal savior and was baptized at New Triumphant Baptist Church. And frequently attended Sunday Service at New Life Deliverance Tabernacle of Richmond Va. Lamontae was a God fearing man who knew the power of prayer. He found faith and forgiveness along his path and encouraged those surrounding him to stay focused and to keep pushing no matter the circumstances.

Lamontae attended public schools and graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 2018. After graduating he went to work at UPS where he moved up into a Part Time Supervisor role for the past 7 years. After later receiving his CDL he enjoyed traveling from state to state driving trucks through contracts from various companies. His most recent jobs were Coca Cola and still UPS in which he enjoyed. He was well-respected and admired by his coworkers.

Beyond his dedicated work. Lamontae was a beloved Son, Brother, Cousin, Friend, and confidant to many. He was humble and self motivated. He was incredibly close to his sister Rimeka who was his rock, best friend, other half, his everything! You didn't see one without the other. He was the peacemaker of the family. Lamontae was kind, generous, courteous, and over all very well mannered. His warm smile, compassionate nature and unwavering support brought light to the lives of those around him. Lamontae had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went. Loyalty, genuine, loving, perseverance, compassion and dedication were traits of his and some he spent time daily showing towards those who were by his side through his life's journey. When he wasn't working or focused on making a life for himself he was living life to the fullest with family and friends! He loved his double mint gum and chips, enjoyed listening to Gospel and R&B music, having fun, and traveling. His favorite songs were "The Best in Me" by Marvin Sapp, "Deliver Me" by Donald Long, "You Don't Know My Story" by John P. Lee and "Go Get It" by Mary Mary. Lamontae was a man known for giving great advice. A humble man whom didn't ask for much but always gave to the world.

Lamontae was preceded in death by his father Ricky Tomon Scott. He leaves to cherish his memories his Mother, Tomeka Smith-Taylor; Step-Father, Don Taylor; 1 sister, Rimeka Tomonica Scott; 2 brothers, Ricky Tomon Scott Jr and Lamon Ricardo Scott; 1 step-sister, LaKeisha Braxton; 1 sister-in-law, Jazmine Scott; 2 Grandmothers, Brenda Holmes and Constance Jones; 3 Aunts, Patrina Smith, Kendra Holmes and Tasheda Scott; 2 Nieces, Lamya and Serenity Scott; in which he loved very much!; a step-niece, Lerick South; and nephew, Kaden South-Braxton; and a host of cousins and friends that loved him very much. His closest cousins were Joseph Davis and Jovonyae Davis that stuck with him through thick and thin all the way to the end. His closest and devoted friends were sis and best friend Sydnee Jones, best friend and mentor Michael Winfree and friend Daniel Thomas.

Lamontae, a beacon of goodness, entered into eternal peace on June 16th 2024. Lamontae's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. His legacy of love, kindness and selflessness will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
