Obituary

Kindra Janét Link, born on April 30, 1977, in Richmond, Virginia, departed this life on May 1, 2024, at the age of 47. Kindra was born to Jerome Mohammed and the late Lydia Nanette Heckstall.

Kindra attended Henrico County public schools which shaped her early years, and proudly graduated from Hermitage High School, class of 1995. Her academic pursuits led her to Bryant and Stratton where she graduated in 1998.

After graduating from Bryant and Stratton, Kindra embarked on a new chapter of her life, and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, alongside her aunt Missy and uncle Telvin. She found her niche as a bank customer service representative at an associated bank. While living in Milwaukee, Kindra embraced the local sports scene, particularly the Green Bay Packers where she followed her favorite player; Darren Sharper who was a fellow Richmonder. Kindra and Missy shared joyful moments attending Milwaukee Bucks games cheering on her favorite player, Ray Allen.

In 2002, she made the decision to move back to her hometown, Richmond and on May, 14,  2003, Kindra welcomed her one and only beloved son, Keyshawn.

Kindra and Keyshawn both shared a love for music. Kindra encouraged Keyshawn to pursue his love for music from writing to singing.

Kindra was preceded in death by her mother Lydia Nanette Heckstall whose love and guidance created a special bond between the two of them. She is reunited with her grandmothers Joyce Elaine Carol Williams and Mary Elizabeth Jefferson. The warmth and wisdom from them is dearly missed. Kindra is also preceded in death by her great grandmother's Lottie Link (Abel) and Mary Eliza Jefferson (Joseph) and her aunt Marian (Rainey).

Kindra leaves to cherish her memory of one beloved son Keyshawn (Kevin); father, Jerome Mohammed; two brothers; Jerome Jefferson Jr. and Joseph Heckstall; stepfather, Larry Heckstall; uncle, Antonio Jefferson, Sr. "TJ"; aunts, Sherice (Robin), Carol, Charlotte, Annette, Odetta (Telvin) and Jeannine (Roderick), and other relatives and friends.

Kindra was a cherished friend, a loving family member and showed kindness to all who knew her. Her memory will forever be treasured by those lives she touched.

As we mourn the loss of Kindra, let us also celebrate her life. May her gentle spirit continue to uplift us in the days ahead. Rest in peace dear Kindra knowing that you are always loved and remembered fondly.
