Kifu Kamau Faruq, of Green Mountain, NC, founder of Medicine Bowl, departed this life in Richmond, VA, on May 10, 2024. She is survived by her parents, Kakanja Zulu (George Nagel) and Dr. Mauta Faruq; her life partner, Jai (JoAnn Green); daughter, Yamia Trollinger-White (John White, Jr.); grandchildren, Ayanna Nadia Brooks, Cain Faruq Trollinger and John Willie White III; siblings, Murad Faruq, Akera Farrow and Asha Bluette; niece and nephews, Seven Sole Faruq, Reign Al'Murad Faruq and Fiya Faruq Page; devoted friends, Christina Rivera Chapman, Nzinga West, Rasheed Mlambo,  Kerline Astre, Ashe Phoenix and Uzomaka Obiocha; and a host of other friends and relatives.
