Joseph L.
White Sr.
d. Oct 9, 2024
Joseph Lamont White Sr. was born July 23, 1965. He was called home on October 9, 2024, at the age of 59. Born and raised in Churchill, Richmond, VA, Joseph lived a life full of love, laughter, and joy, touching the hearts of everyone he met.
He graduated from Jefferson Huguenot Wythe High School in 1984, where he shone as a varsity football player all four years. After high school, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Military, where he served with honor for four years. His service was a source of pride for him and his family.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Deborah Ann White, his father Nathaniel Burney, and his children, Trevon Lamont Miller, Ronee Arielle Davis, Malik Lamont White, and DeJoe Joyce White. He was a proud grandfather to Tyson Lamont Miller and was lovingly known as "Papi" to his grandchildren of the heart. He also leaves behind his brothers, Rudolph V. White, Thomas White, and Douglas White, his sisters, Pearl White, Vanessa Kye, and Glenda Denise Williams, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. Joseph was predeceased by his mother, Joyce D. White, and his brother, Calvin White.
Joseph's love of sports stayed with him his entire life. Football was in his blood, and his loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys was unshakable. Win or lose, you knew Joseph was cheering on his 'Boys' with passion.
But if there was one thing Joseph was known for as much as football, it was his flair for style. They didn't call him "Blue Cheese" for nothing—because when it came to dressing, Joseph didn't just follow trends, he set them. His outfits were as sharp as his smile, and his presence as warm as his infectious laughter that could fill any room.
Joseph was a man of many passions. He loved all kinds of music, had a special talent in the kitchen as a self-proclaimed chef, and had a gift for making everyone around him feel loved and appreciated. His heart was as big as his personality, and he touched the lives of so many—family, friends, and even those who were lucky enough to cross his path just once. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Though we will miss him every day, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on in all of us.
