Obituary

John Wesley Mack, affectionately called "Bubba", was called to his eternal rest, Saturday March 9, 2024. It saddened our heart for him to leave s, but we reflected on the goodness of God. God gave Bubba to us for 81 years, 981 months and 29,654 days, so we say "Thank you Lord".

John Wesley Mack "Bubba" was born June 23, 1942 in Sumter, SC, to the late Jake and Hattie Mack. He attended Sumter Public Schools. After school, Bubba was determined to be a long distance truck driver. As a truck driver it afforded him a career that he loved until he retired in 2000 from Tidewater Material Company.

On February 3, 1984, Bubba married the love of his life, Chlora Ann Bassett. They shared 40 years of love together. They were inseparable until God called him home. Their lives as husband and wife were rich with love. Their home was a safe haven, a place where family would gather for good food, good music, and to hear Bubba give words of wisdom and fatherly advice.

Bubba was reared in a Christian home. He rededicated his life to the Lord, and made Jesus the Lord over his life. He affiliated himself with St John Life In The Word Ministry, under Pastor Jimmie Andrews, his nephew. He was faithful to prayer and to the church Bible study. His testimonies and voice will greatly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his son, Johnnie Mack; five siblings, Willie Mack, Robert Mack, Lucille Starkes, Grace Cooke, and Maybelle Garland.

Cherishing his memories are his devoted wife, Chlora Mack; three daughters, Christine Coward, Shirley Mack, and Lakeisha Bassett (Melvin); five sons, Ronnie, Javon, Mitchell, Travis and Samuel Mack; two sisters, Williemae Pittman and Patricia McAllister; two sisters-in-law, Terry Bassett and Linda Dean; two brothers-in-law, Lee Bassett (Irene) and Victor Bassett(Patricia); 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including his devoted nephew and Pastor, Pastor Jimmie Andrews (Lenette).
