It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, John Wade Johnson Jr., who departed this life on March 11, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on October 9, 1947, in King William County, VA. He received Jesus Christ and became a member of Increase International Ministries, Pastor Dr. Ervin L. Harvey.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted daughters, Levi Tran (Pham Duc Trong), Kendra Johnson Turner, Tamika Hurdle, Tiffany Johnson and Christina Johnson; stepson, Isaiah J. Howard Jr.; beloved mother, Pearl Smith; aunt, Bernice Hightower; sister, COL Sandra Smith Mason; brothers, Dorn Smith, Ellis Smith, Michael Johnson and Larry Jefferson; grandchildren, Sandy Lloyd (Christopher) and Scott Tran; great-granddaughter, Lilith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends; all of whom he adored.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James J. Smith; father, John W. Johnson Sr.; uncle, George Johnson (Rosalie); brothers, Archie Johnson and Thomas Jefferson; and sister, Rhonda Johnson.

Thank you to all those who supported the family and cared for him during his brief illness. His love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
