Jacqueline A. Washington

Jacqueline Ann Washington, born April 12, 1946, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Estelle and James Goode, entered eternal rest peacefully at home on September 6, 2026. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Washington, and her nieces, Jackie Hutcheson and Lillie Hutcheson.

Jacqueline was blessed with four daughters and, together with her husband, raised a total of twelve children. She lived a life filled with strength, love, devotion to family, and service to her community.

Jacqueline attended Richmond Public Schools and graduated from Armstrong High School. She worked in the nursing field at Beth Sholom Nursing Home until her retirement. She was a member of Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia where she received her spiritual blessing.

Jacqueline touched many lives through her kindness, wisdom, and gentle presence. She embraced those around her with compassion and warmth, leaving a legacy of grace, love, and care that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all whose lives were brightened by her generous spirit.

Jacqueline leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 63 years, George Washington, Jr.; three daughters, Georgette Washington, Vivian Byrd (Anton), and Tonya Johnson (Tyler); and one sister, Regina Chambers (James). She is also survived by a host of beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and her devoted friend of more than 60 years, Celestine Taylor.

Professional services entrusted to Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 1 p.m. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
