Obituary

Jacqueline J. Kearney passed away suddenly on April 2, 2025, in Richmond, Virginia, at the age of 75. Born on September 29, 1949, in Richmond, she was the beloved daughter of Monroe A. Jasper of Amelia County, Virginia, and Ethel Vauters Jasper of Buckingham County, Virginia.

Jacqueline lived a life defined by compassion, loyalty, and quiet strength. Her greatest joy was her son, Willis Lamont Kearney. As a mother, she was fiercely loving, endlessly patient, and deeply devoted. Her love shaped his life and continues to live on through him.

She was one of seven siblings and held her role as a sister with deep pride and devotion. Jacqueline is lovingly remembered by her brothers Leroy Clifton Jasper (wife Betty), Arthur Emanuel Jasper (wife Doretha), Kenneth Matthew Jasper (wife Yolanda), and Fredrick Allen Jasper; and by her sisters Evangeline Jasper Clark (husband Darryl) and Gwendolyn Dale Bradley. To each of them, she was more than a sister—she was a confidante and a source of unwavering strength.

Jacqueline's friendships were equally enduring. Her sincerity, wisdom, and heartfelt kindness made her a trusted companion to many. She had a rare ability to make others feel at home with her warm smile and thoughtful presence. Her strength lay not in seeking attention but in the quiet, everyday ways she showed up with kindness and care.

Though she has departed this world, Jacqueline's spirit remains etched in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered as someone who taught others how to love with grace, endure with dignity, and live with meaning.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and cherished her.
