Henry N.
Woodson
d. May 16, 2024
Henry N. Woodson, 82, entered peacefully into heaven's gates on May 16, 2024. Henry was born in Arvonia, Virginia on July 6, 1942, to the late Corine Woodson.
Henry was very compassionate and always ready to lend a helping hand. Henry's heart of charity extended way beyond just him and his family and friends. He poured love into the many lives he touched. Music was his second language and with it, he was able to share incredible memories with him and his wife Gloria. Much joy was shared with his friends and family when he would say "Have you ever jumped out of a plane" and "Do you want to race". His imagination was creative and the things he would say were most charming when he was in the element.
After graduating from high school, he enlisted into the United States Army. As part of the 82nd Airborne division, he would always talk highly about his time in the service but also made sure you knew he jumped out of an airplane. After doing his time in the army, he worked for UPS in Richmond, Virginia then transferred to Newport News, Virginia. Henry put his best foot forward to work his way up to management, to become the center manager of Newport News, and help other coworkers to be the best version of themselves. He was a man of character who wore suits everywhere he went that were unique and stylish. May his memory bloom in our hearts and cherish his great achievements.
Henry is survived by his wife Gloria Woodson; two sons, Duane (Debra) Woodson and Sean (Jo Ann) Woodson; three beloved granddaughters, Amanda Woodson, Eleasa Woodson and Aaliyah Woodson; brother, Larry; and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and family.
