Frank Houston Jasper, a musician, jack of all trades, and life-long resident of Powhatan, VA, went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2023, at the age of 64. Frank, affectionately called "Brother" by his siblings, was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marell Jasper; and his brothers, Kirkland, Jerome, and Sherwood Jasper.
He is survived by his devoted and long-term companion, Yvette Mann; his siblings, Mary Njie, Charles Jasper, and Melinda Lewis (Willie); and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
Frank was born in Richmond, VA. He attended Powhatan County Public Schools and was an athlete his entire academic career. Frank, nicknamed "Skyscraper" in school, excelled at basketball and track (long jump and pole vaulting). He worked for Powhatan County Public Schools and Powhatan Correctional Center as a corrections officer. Frank was a devoted son and caregiver to his father, the late Frank A. Jasper. He also earned a degree with Key Business College.
Frank had an undeniable presence. He was outspoken and loved to make jokes. He had a peculiar sense of humor and way of thinking about things. Frank spoke his mind, whether you wanted him to or not. He was loved and liked by many. Frank was willing to give a helping hand any way that he could. He loved fixing things, especially his cars. His passion and love was music. Frank was self-taught on the keyboard, the drums, and the bass guitar. He played when he could and as loud as he could.
