Fayerita Carter Allen, departed this life October 14, 2022. She is survived by her mother, Jean R. Carter; three brothers, Thomas, James and John T. Carter; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where viewing will take place Friday, October 21, 2022, from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Broomfield Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 609 Richmond Highway (formerly Jefferson Davis Highway), on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 1 p.m. Interment will take place in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia on a future date.
