Obituary

Faye Dunn Coleman, 76, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025. Known for her sharp wit and unmatched lovingkindness, she will be remembered for making everyone that she encountered feel special.

A native of Richmond's Church Hill, Faye was the oldest child of Emily Narcissus Manning Dunn and Bernard Dunn Sr. She and her brother, Bernard Jr.; were raised by her loving aunt and uncle – Elaine and Rudy Dunn. She was educated at Van de Vyver Elementary School on N. 1st St. and graduated from St. Francis de Sales School in Powhatan County for high school.

Faye was predeceased by her parents, brother, aunt and uncle, her dear cousin, Valerie; and former husband, Henry Coleman Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Angela Hawkins Morton (Franklin Sr.); son, Isaac "Ike" Hawkins Jr.; and their father, Isaac Hawkins Sr.; and son, Henry "Hank" Coleman Jr. (Cynthia). She is also survived by her life's joy – her grandchildren – Zakiya Hawkins, Franklin Morton Jr., and Omari Morton; Matthew Hawkins and his mother, Emily Knaack; Alaina Hawkins Loving (Brandon) and Ariana Hawkins and their mother, Olivia Norman; and Henry Coleman III and Leland Coleman; great-grandsons, Hadley Allen Loving and Kobe Lee Cheatham Morton; niece, Emily Dunn; aunts, Rosebud Hawkes, Ruth Jacobs, and Toni Manning; uncle, Ira Manning; a host of cousins, including one that is like a brother, Keith Dunn; and many dear friends.

Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., Richmond, VA, 23223, where the family will receive friends Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 4 to 5 p.m., and where funeral services will take place on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. The interment will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
