Ella Gray Miles was born on October 9, 1943, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Bessie Estelle Goodwin and Luther Gray. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Charles Miles, Sr., and two brothers James and Samuel; five sisters Bessie, Emma, Pearl, Constance, and Mary.

On January 3, 1962, Ella married the love of her life, Charles Miles, Sr. From this beautiful union, one son was born. She cherished her husband deeply and adored her four grandchildren, who were the very extension of her heart.

Ella was formally employed by AT&T Lucent Technologies as a machine operator, where she worked faithfully until her retirement in 1999. Her strong work ethic and dedication earned her the respect of her colleagues and friends.

Quiet and graceful in spirit, Ella was known for her giving heart—always ready to help others in any way she could. She had a timeless sense of style and a joyful personality that shone through in everything she did. In her leisure time, she loved playing bingo with her friends and traveling the world—always ready for the next adventure.

On October 2, 2025, God called Ella home to eternal rest, where she was reunited with her loved ones who went before her. Her memory will live on through the love she shared and the many lives she touched.

She leaves to cherish her memories: loving son, Charles Miles, Jr.; four adored grandchildren, Shariah, Tavares, Carlos and Andre; two great grandchildren, Tavares Jr. and Kali Miles; one caring sister, Louise Randolph; extended family friends, Tajuana Jeffries and the Anderson Family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
