On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, Edna Odessa Dickerson peacefully answered the Master's call.

Edna was born on January 8, 1938, to Leon (Buddy) and Edna (Bea) Adkins in Richmond, Virginia. She accepted Christ into her life and joined New Vine Baptist Church in Charles City, Virginia.

Edna was raised in Richmond's Church Hill neighborhood by her parents. The oldest of four girls, she spent a lot of time at the home of her grandparents, Welton and Edna Allen, in Charles City.

In 1956, Edna married Louis Dickerson and moved to Charles City, Virginia in 1963 and raised their six children. She worked for the phone company for many years. Edna loved to cook and spend time with her family and friends. She was giving and always kept her home open and filled with love.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Edna Adkins; grandparents, Welton and Edna Allen; husband, Louis; children, Walter Dickerson and Gail Grant; and sisters, Barbara Shaw and Elizabeth Henderson.

Edna leaves to cherish her precious memories her sons, Jimmy, Shawn (Vicki), and Carl Dickerson, and daughter, Gena Lewis (Jeff); son-in-law, Temple Grant; daughter-in-law, Ann Dickerson; sister, Gwen Woolfolk; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and devoted friends.
