Obituary

Doris Ann Johnson was born on July 8, 1953, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Colindus Johnson, Sr. and Idelia Johnson.

Doris received her early education in the Richmond City Public School System and was a proud graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. She began her working career at MCV Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, where she served for a period of time before continuing her professional journey at Philip Morris. Doris dedicated more than 30 years of faithful service to Philip Morris, where she became well known and deeply appreciated by her coworkers for her warm smile, wonderful sense of humor, and strong work ethic. She was truly dedicated in all that she did.

Doris loved life and found joy in caring for others. Cooking was one of her greatest passions. Once she learned of a family gathering or a friend's event, she was already preparing—not just one pan of food, but two or more. Her generosity knew no limits. Doris loved to laugh and had a special gift for making others smile. To know Doris was to love her, and if you didn't, it was truly your loss.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Richard Henderson; and her brothers, Tyrone Johnson, Colindus Johnson, Jr. and Jesse Johnson.

Doris leaves to cherish and celebrate her life: her devoted son, Charles Johnson, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Junie; her grandchildren, Kevon Brown, Dominick Johnson, Malachi Johnson, Ethan Johnson, and granddaughter June Charlie Johnson; two great-granddaughters; her brothers, Warren Johnson, Maurice Johnson, and Leon Johnson; a devoted friend, Autry Lee Martin, Sr.; devoted cousins, Teressa Moran and Allen Moran, Sr.; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Doris Ann Johnson will forever be remembered for her loving heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering generosity.
