Donte' C. Wheeler, of Henrico, departed this life October 19, 2023. He was born to Keith Dion Wheeler and the late Nina Fitzhugh Wells on December 22, 1986, in Richmond, VA.

Donte graduated from Hermitage High School in 2005. Charming, he worked for many years in customer service. Working with media tools was his specialty, whether audio or visual, he was able to create engaging and entertaining videos and more.

Donte wrote his eulogy by the way he lived his life. He was a man of humility, compassion, understanding, honesty, love, and devotion. Donte was kind, intentional, and he loved to laugh. His smile could light up any room and his dimples were an added sparkle.

Donte's passions were his faith, family, and music. For years Donte served in ministry, being ordained on December 21, 2016. He served as a Leader of the Young Adult Ministries (YAM) offering spiritual guidance and mentorship. He served on two international mission trips- one to Guatemala and one to El Salvador. Also, at Faith Landmark Ministries, Donte served as a drummer, and ordained Minister, and worked as a Media Specialist.

Don, Don Juan, Don Magic, DJaun, Wee-onte, Turtle, or Uncle Donte- he was called a variety of names in love by family and friends. Whether enjoying chitterlings his Mom made, watching his nieces and nephews open gifts, enjoying an Eagles game with his brother, laughing at a family reunion or cookout, Donte loved spending time with family. And for Donte his friends became his family.

To Donte, great music was music regardless of the genre. He was a gifted musician with the ability to produce, songwrite, rap, and play instruments. He was especially a naturally gifted drummer. He used his many gifts to uplift the glory of God. He was a member of a couple of bands and rap groups and enjoyed performing live.

Donte Cleveland Wheeler, 36, of Henrico County, VA, unexpectedly, passed away on October 19, 2023. Left to mourn this loss are his parents Keith and Wanda Wheeler, brothers, Charles "CP" Henley (Shanda), Keith "DJ" Wheeler (Steph), Grandmother, Mary Henley, a host of nieces, nephews, Uncles, Aunts, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his mother, Nina Fitzhugh Wells and Leon, Grandparents, Cleveland M. and Rose D. Wheeler and Menchion Henley, Sr. The family welcomes all to the Celebration of Donte's Life at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St, Richmond, VA 23223, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 4 p.m. The viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., prior to the service.
