Diane Y.
Lomax
d. Jan 18, 2026
Diane Yvonne Lomax was born on August 11, 1948, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Amos and Sarah McGee. She entered eternal rest on January 18, 2026. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Marshall and Larry, and her beloved grandmother, Hazel Green to whom she attributes her personal resilience.
Diane received her educated in the Richmond Public School System and proudly graduated from Maggie L. Walker High School in 1966. Singing in her high school choir was one of her earliest joys.
Following high school, Diane gave back to her community by volunteering as a Candy Striper, offering support and compassion to patients and medical staff at a local hospital.
She was nurtured in faith as a youth at "Fifth Baptist Church" and later united with "The St. Paul's Baptist Church" of Richmond.
Diane consistently nurtured her passion for strategic investing and took pride in sharing her success with those she loved. While her expression of love was uniquely her own, she never failed to show up when her presence and support were needed most.
After thirty-five years of dedicated service, Diane cheerfully retired from Philip Morris. Her strong work ethic and commitment were evident throughout her career.
Diane Yvonne Lomax will be remembered for her strength, bold Independence, quiet generosity and unwavering presence in the lives of those she loved. Her legacy will live on through her family and all whose lives she touched.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Damon Lomax (Cherry); grandchildren, Daria, Chance, Charish, Carter; great-granddaughter, Aubrey; brothers, Michael McGee (Carol) and Peter McGee (Avis); sisters Audrey "Yhayha" Hargrove, Deborah "Debbie" Taylor, and Reba Jones (James); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
