Diane Laverne Burnett, 69, of Richmond, Virginia, went into eternal rest on Thursday, March 5th, 2026, comfortably at VCU Hospital. She was born April 10th, 1956, in Richmond, Virginia, to Charles and Rosa Lee Johnson Jr. She attended Richmond Public Schools and continued her career by establishing a small business in housekeeping and working part time for the City of Richmond before she became ill.

Diane enjoyed music, gardening, fashion, playing cards, cooking and hanging out with her close friends and family. She enjoyed the time she spent with the people she loved and was loyal to a fault. Her gentle and energetic smile lit up everywhere she went, which was just as equal to her caring heart and eagerness to help others.

She is survived by her husband, Henry "Pete" Burnett; sons, Marcellus Barbour and Jermaine "Billy" Johnson (Shantay); stepdaughters, Nichole Brooks and Bridgette Mabry; siblings, Darnell Johnson (Adrienne) and Barbara Jean Kendrick (James); along with several grandchildren and a host of loving extended family; and a few devoted friends that were more like family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rosa Lee Johnson Jr; brothers, Michael Johnson and Charles Johnson III; and son, Eric Barbour.
