Diane Olivia Bond, also known as 'Lady Di', was born in Richmond, Virginia, August 30, 1954, and departed this world peacefully on August 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her.
Diane received her education at John F. Kennedy High School in Richmond, Virginia, graduated in 1972, and then studied Business Administration at John Tyler Community College. She was a dedicated employee of AARP and happily retired in 2017. She was a member of First African Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia.
Diane found joy in simple moments, whether watching movies and NFL football games, taking walks around the neighborhood and Walmart, volunteering at schools, vacationing on the beach and feeling the sand between her toes, eating chocolate cake, or sharing laughter with loved ones and friends. Her integrity, positive attitude, and wisdom touched many lives and will be remembered forever.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tameka Bond; her mother and father, Otis Jerolene (Spencer) Sanders and Walter Christopher Gordon Sr.; and her sister, Gladys Lynette Gordon.
Diane leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted son, Fred Bond III (Jasmin); loving grandchildren, Jorden Bond (Le'Nicia) and Tamia Bond; sisters, Beverly Yvonne Gray (Tyrone) and Charlene Odessa Sanders; brother, Walter Christopher Gordon Jr.; dedicated friend and life partner, Fred Bond, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Dezire Bond, Fred Seven Bond, Lei'lani Bond, and Jorden J. Bond; aunt, Shirley Mitchell; nephews, Jeffrey Pride Jr., Lawrence Price III and Walter Christopher Gordon III; niece, April Price; and a host of cherished cousins, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
May Diane Olivia Bond rest in peace; her life will be remembered with love and gratitude.
Professional services entrusted to Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where a memorial service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 2 p.m.
