Deaconess Vernelle B. Burrell, of Richmond, departed this life February 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Deacon Jackson E. Burrell Sr. She is survived by her two daughters, Jacquelin Baytop (Russell) and Justina B. Holmes; six grandchildren, Andrea Baytop Eady (Christopher), Marques Baytop (Courtney), Stephen Baytop, Francis Boone II, Paris Holmes, and Christina Holmes; great-grandson, Mason Baytop; sister, Mrs. Pearl Thompson; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where viewing will take place Friday, February 21, 2025, from 12 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Great Hope Baptist Church, 2101 Venable St., on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
