Obituary

Enoch Edward Jones, (PooLou, Red, or Rock) as he was affectionally known by his family and friends, was the son of the late John and Martha Jones. He was born on July 27, 1956 in Richmond, Virginia. He departed this earthly life on Monday December 18, 2023 in the comfort of his home.

Enoch joined Cedar Street Baptist Church at an early age. In 1997, he was ordained a Deacon and after twenty-five years of service as Deacon Emeritus. He was a faithful member of the church for over fifty years until his health began to decline.

On April 5, 1985, Enoch and Brenda Simmons were united in Holy Matrimony, and to this union they were blessed with one daughter.

Enoch attended Richmond Public Schools, and later moved with his family to McKennney, Virginia where he graduated from Dinwiddie Public Schools. Enoch retired from Philip Morris U.S.A. after 30 years of dedicated service. He attended Virginia State University, Richmond Virginia Seminary, and was a member of the International Free Masons, Woodville Lodge, #8 in Richmond, Virginia.

Enoch was a joking, fun loving, devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved his family, and his daughter and granddaughter were the apple of his eye. His favorite football team was Washington, and he never met a stranger he couldn't talk to.

Enoch was preceded in death by his sister Zenobia Reavis, brother-in-law, Kenneth Reavis, and mother-in-law, Alice Simmons. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving wife, Brenda Jones; devoted daughter, Brittany James (Tyrell); granddaughter, Lauren James; two brothers, Nathaniel Jones (Anathea), and Virgil Jones (Cheryl); one sister, Zoe Jones; uncle, Todd Watkins (Patty); father-in-law, Carl Simmons Sr. (Joyce); two sister-in-laws, Deborah Johnson and Jean Simmons; two brother-in-laws, Carl Simmons Jr. (Michelle) and Barry Simmons (Mary); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a devoted dog, Sammy.
