Danny K.
Suggs
d. Aug 25, 2024
Danny Kay Suggs was born March 13, 1958, to Mary Jane Vines Suggs and the late Joseph Suggs in Richmond Virginia. He was called home to eternal rest on August 25, 2024. Danny had two brothers, Tony Reno Suggs and Clayton Yusef Suggs, who preceded him in death.
He attended the Richmond Public School System and went to John F. Kennedy High School. He enlisted into the United States Army and served his country proudly. After completing his tour of duty, he received an honorable discharge in 1979.
Upon returning to Richmond, he was employed in the family business, Suggs Construction. He learned the trade of drywall and sheetrock finishing for many years. He later moved to Washington, D.C. to work on bridge construction through the Veterans Administration.
In March 1999, Danny married Barbara Miller, and they raised two children, Tyrone and Tracy.
Known for his encouragement and leadership, Danny was a family man who provided for his loved ones. He was described as a sports enthusiast, supporting his brother Clay's football games at Kennedy High School and Winston Salem University. He had a jovial personality, often telling jokes to bring laughter to others. Danny was deeply devoted to his family, including his nieces and nephews which were an extension to his heartbeat.
Danny leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Barbara Suggs; adored children, Tyrone Miller and Tracy Miller; four beloved children; caring mother, Mary Suggs; beloved sisters, Carol J. Tucker, Annie J. Cobb, and Cynether C. Davis; along with other relatives, friends, and a close family friend, Iran Smith.
