Charles S. Evans Jr.

Charles Shedrick Evans, Jr., 77, of Sandston, Virginia, peacefully transitioned from this life on July 17, 2026.

Born on November 26, 1948, Charles was the son of the late Charles S. Evans, Sr. and Carrie Mallory Washington. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, cherished brother, and loyal friend whose kindness and quiet strength touched the lives of many.

Charles was educated in the Richmond Public Schools and graduated from Armstrong High School with the Class of 1966. He believed deeply in the value of hard work, dedication, and providing for his family. Those qualities were evident throughout his remarkable 45-year career with Victor Products of Richmond, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.

Retirement gave Charles the opportunity to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. He took great pride in caring for his yard, especially raking leaves, and could often be found outside waving to neighbors as they passed by. His warm smile, friendly spirit, and willingness to lend a helping hand made him a familiar and beloved presence in his community.

On September 16, 1989, Charles married his childhood friend and the love of his life, Brenda A. Dandridge. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. Through their blended family, they shared nearly four decades of marriage, creating a legacy of devotion and togetherness that will forever be treasured.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Brenda A. Evans; children, Carlton, Tanecia (Delmon), Spencer (Andrea), Jobina, Cameron, Christian, and his godson, Antoine Liggons; thirteen grandchildren, including two especially devoted granddaughters, Jasmine Weaver (Brian) and Talia Dandridge (Joshua); nine great-grandchildren; brother, Norris Evans; brother-in-law, James Sydnor, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Charles will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering love for his family, and his willingness to help others, especially his neighbors, Ronnie and Travis, whom he considered dear friends. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, generosity, and quiet strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
