Carol E.
Coles
d. Apr 6, 2026
Carol Coles was born on September 25, 1948, in Sun, West Virginia, to the late George and Annie Thomas. She was one of ten children, raised in a loving and close-knit family.
In 1976, Carol united in marriage with her beloved husband, the late DeNard Coles. Together, they built a strong blended family and lovingly raised five children. Carol dedicated many years as a devoted homemaker, nurturing and guiding her family. Later in life, she joined JC Penney's Telemarketing Center, where she worked faithfully until her retirement.
Carol will always be remembered for her deep love for the Lord and her heartfelt desire for everyone to experience salvation. She found great joy in attending church services, and when she wasn't in worship, she delighted in one of her favorite pastimes—shopping. Carol was also a woman of many talents, including singing and playing the drums, which brought joy to those around her.
She has now taken her rest, hearing the words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant," as she wears her heavenly crown.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, DeNard Coles; her parents, George and Annie Thomas; her sisters, Jacqueline Brooks and Denise Ross; her brother, Clinton Thomas; and her beloved grandchildren, Anderson (Ralph) Johnson, Dominique Tedder, and Rasheen Wallington.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories-her loving children: Rodney (Audrey) Thomas, Levelle Tedder, Christopher (Tawanda) Tedder, Derek Coles, and Denetta Coles; siblings: George D. Thomas, Betty Thomas, Brenda Underwood, Patricia Fussell, Deborah Thomas, and Pamela King, 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
