Daniel
d. Jun 15, 2024
Callaway Daniel, 91, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 15, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born to the late William Henry Daniel and Mollie Bailey Daniel on December 13, 1932, in Granville County, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by four sisters; Annie Green, Lucy Battle, Beatrice Allen and Hallie Bailey; six brothers; Allie Daniel, John Henry Daniel, William Vass, James Vass, Reuben Vass, and Robert Lee Cooper.
Callaway was educated in the Granville County School System. After school he relocated to Richmond, Virginia where he started his career in truck driving. He was employed by Wyatt Transfer LLC for over 30 years from which he retired.
Callaway loved the Lord and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at the Seventh Street Memorial Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Lester D. Frye.
Callaway enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially his daughter LaTonya Bogans and granddaughter Bella Bogans. He loved every moment they spent together. When they were apart, he would always call and ask, "where that baby at"? (referring to his granddaughter). He also loved his nieces and nephews equally as his own, calling all of them his children. When they got together it was always filled with lots of laughter On any given day you could find him on Florida Ave at the Darks house sitting in the yard or sleep in his car.
Callaway leaves to cherish his memories one devoted daughter LaTonya Bogans and one granddaughter Bella Bogans. A host of nieces and nephews and the Dark Family and other loving relatives and dear friends. Everyone he met he made a lasting impression.
