Betty Rose Lewis, born July 30, 1946, in Wake Forest, North Carolina, to the late Austine Williams and Laurice Crump, transitioned peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at her home in Richmond, Virginia, surrounded by her devoted family.

Affectionately known as Betty Rose, she began her education at DuBois School in Wake Forest and received her early spiritual foundation at Faith Tabernacle. Her formative years were spent between Wake Forest and Richmond, where she was nurtured by a loving network of family.

As a teenager, Betty Rose met Tyrone Jones, the love of her life. Together, they journeyed across the country as a proud military couple during the Vietnam Era, raising four children along the way. Later, she married Steven Lewis, and from that union, one more child was born, completing a family rooted in love, resilience, and grace.

Betty Rose leaves behind a legacy of strength and compassion through her five children: Vickie Jones and Deirdre Jones of Richmond, VA; Anthony Jones of Raleigh, NC; Shelley Bryant of Charleston, SC; and Stephanie Bryant of Richmond, VA. Her life continues through twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, and a host
of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished loved ones across generations and geographies.

Her memory will forever be a beacon of love, faith, and family.
