In the early morning hours of Friday, March 29, 2024, Anthony "Tony" Melvin Sr., 73, entered eternal rest at MCV Hospital, located in Richmond, VA.

Anthony was born August 2,1950 in Richmond, VA, to the late Virgie Martin and James Melvin, Sr.

Anthony was preceeded in death by his beloved wife, Sharlee Melvin, who earned her heavenly wings in 2018, whom he married July 2, 1971, sharing 47 years of marriage; his son, Anthony "Little Tony" Melvin Jr.; parents, Virgie Martin and James Melvin Sr.; and his brother, James Melvin Jr.

Anthony is survived and loved by his son, Lynard Melvin Sr. (Alicia McCauley); grandchildren, James Washington, Lynard Melvin Jr., Devont'e Melvin, Lyric Melvin, and Paris Boddie; great-grandchildren, Jaylyn Washington, Damari Melvin, Jerrell Washington, and Damir Melvin; brother, Matthew Melvin Sr.; and sister, Phyllis Stewart. Anthony was well loved, devoted are his brother-in-law, Timothy Slayton; nieces, Vanessa Jones, Phyllis Doby, and Mivida Parham; nephews, Willie McNeil III and Leon Melvin; great-niece, Kia Delamar; and sister-in-law, Margaret Slayton; all of Richmond, VA, close friends, Thelbert "T-Bird" Williams, Frank Russell, Donald Price, Horace Anderson, Barry Miles, Omar Sanchez, and Robert Pleasant.  Anthony leaves a host of family and friends that he loved dearly.
